During my master studies I went to Spain as an exchange student (Erasmus) where I studied for one semester at the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluyna, Escola Tecnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona.
Because the youth in the rural areas of Spain rapidly migrate to the cities the communities in these parts become empty and in disrepair. The aim of this project was to design a building which would give a new impuls to the small village but also could inserted in an appropriate way with respect to the surroundings. The shape of the building follows the slowly rising hill against which the village is situated. On two levels the are different functions such as exhibition halls, research areas, small cinema and library, shop, meeting rooms and a small catering facility.
